Writing is like cooking, not baking because the measurements and temperature (your internal emotional barometer) do not have to be exact. Sometimes I find we add more ingredients like pathos and narrative and sometimes we do without depending on how full or sparse our creative cupboard is on any given day.
There are so many books on the craft that is easy to spend more time reading about the process of writing, than actual sitting down and writing. Or standing up if that is your process!
